The Division coordinates advocacy efforts on behalf of older adults, encourages partnerships to improve and expand services, and contracts with agencies to provide services to older adults and caregivers. Please see below for our available services.

Adult Day Care

This program provides community-based, daytime supervision and support for eligible adults who need assistance to remain safely in their homes.

Assisted Medical Transportation

This program provides eligible adults 60 and older with safe and reliable transportation to and from medical appointments. The service is designed to assist individuals who have difficulty using public transportation or driving themselves due to age, disability, or medical condition. Transportation may include trips to doctor visits, therapy sessions, pharmacies, or other medically necessary destinations.

Better Choices, Better Health

An interactive 6-week workshop for seniors with chronic health conditions and their caregivers.

Caregiver Counseling

This program provides caregivers with individual counseling, support groups, training and information to help individuals fulfill their caregiving roles and responsibilities.

Caregiver Respite

Temporary relief for primary caregivers of older adults by offering substitute care to the care recipient.

Chore

Assistance with complex housework needed to remove hazards that make the home unsafe to live in or move around.

Congregate Meals

This program provides nutritious meals to eligible older adults in a group setting to promote health, reduce food insecurity, and encourage socialization.

Enhanced Fitness

An evidence-based, physical activity program designed to improve the overall functional fitness and well-being of older adults.

Falls Prevention Program

This program provides adults age 60 and older with education and safety equipment to help reduce the risk of falls in the home. It is a partnership between the Agency on Elderly Affairs, the Kauaʻi Fire Department, and American Medical Response.

Through coordinated home visits, the Falls Prevention Partners assess individual needs, provide and install recommended basic safety equipment, and deliver education on Fire, Falls, and Disaster Preparedness to help kupuna remain safe and independent in their homes.

Home Delivered Meals

This program provides eligible homebound adults 60 and older with nutritious meals delivered directly to their homes. The service is designed to assist individuals who are unable to prepare their own meals or attend congregate meal sites due to age, disability, or health conditions

Homemaker

Assistance with household tasks like meal preparation, light cleaning, and laundry to maintain a safe and sanitary living environment.

Learn how to use it to track health, prevent falls, and prepare for emergencies. No tech skills needed, just bring your device and join us!
