About Kaua’i Agency on Elderly Affairs

The Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA) has been the designated Area Agency on Aging for Oahu since 1973. Created by the Older Americans Act of 1965, it is one of 600 Area Agencies on Aging nationwide.

Its mission is to develop a comprehensive and coordinated system of services to assist older persons in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.

KAUAI COUNTY

Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs

Our Mission

The Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA), as the designated lead County agency, plans, implements, supports, and advocates for the well-being of older adults (60 and older); and as the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) serves as a one stop source of information on long term care support options and services for all residents.

Our Vision

Older adults will live independently at home or in the community with dignity and respect.

Family caregivers receive adequate support to care for their older adults.

Older adults, persons with disabilities and family caregivers will make informed choices and have streamlined access to long term care support.
